His smile
Robert will be remembered for his love for his family and friends. His wonderful smile, laugh, fun ways and manners towards the adults in his life. He was a kindered spirit, a deep soul (or should I say, old soul) and loved by all who truly knew him. He had a way of making you feel you had a special gift and only had to say it once and you believed him. This world is a sad place without him...
Robert was the passenger on a motorcycle. He hit a tree and died instantly. It was his first time on a bike...
Two poems I found after Robert passed away (they could be lyrics but I truly feel they are his poems):
I stumble upon a door The light shed from beneath so sad it blinds me your courage shadows me
Surrounded Homebound from life My foot gets in the crack
Next poem: All Night I Hear The Music of Waters
All night I hear the music of waters Making sighs, Joyfull as the sea-bird is, when flying Forth alone He listens to the winds sing to the waters' Monotone The grey winds, the brisk winds are blowing Where I am I hear the melody of many waters Far below All day, All night I listen to them flowing To and fro
All day I hear the noise of waters Making moan Sad as the sea-bird is, when going forth alone. He hears the winds cry to the waters Far below All day, all night, I hear them flowing To and fro.
The one he wrote to me on my 50th birthday -
Happy Birthday Mom Thank you for the years Sorry if I every brought you to tears You mean more then the world to me Your still young as long as your free.
Love allways Rob
After I read the card I looked up and he was crying. This was at a restaurant with Bob, Annie & a friend from college and Emily. It was a connection I will never forget, and I am so grateful for that.
